Warfarin and leather sofas

Postby Dorothy Drury » Sat Jul 27, 2013 1:01 pm

I had a patient complain that her expensive leather sofa was wearing, and the salesman had said that he could not do anything as the fault lay with the husband taking warfarin?
Its not April 1st, anybody throw any light on how this suggestion could have arisen?
(Unless he had a warfarin alert bracelet and it was scratching the leather?)

I'll have to go and examine my leather sofas. The bodach on warfarin post query PE, post Achilles tendon rupture from a combination of Scottish country dancing and skiing.

Nope sofas look OK.

Would you tell a sofa salesman your husband was taking warfarin? Bizarre! :D

Not simultaneously, I hope and trust.

One might imagine, for example, some difficulties in dancing the Gay Gordons whilst wearing skis.

Danced the Gay Gordon and Glengarry Swing last night at our dance group Summer Seaside Social.
I did the catering which was chips and ice cream. Majority got Chips, Ice Cream, tea all included in ticket price of £3.

Is Warfarin or its metabolites excreted via sweat and causes damage when it comes into contact with the material?

Would help stop the rats chewing the leather.
